Types of Student Visa

Australia offers 8 types of student visa to International students. The major and the most popular Students visas are:

  • Independent ELICOS Visa – If you are planning to study ELICOS Course (English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students) in Australia, Subclass 570 Elicos Visa is required.
  • Schools Sector visa (Subclass 571): International students who want to stay in Australia to study a full-time school course are required to have a Subclass 571 Schools Sector Visa. This is also mandatory to exchange students.
  • Vocational Education and Training Sector Visa – International students need Subclass 572 VET Student visa to pursue Certificate I, II, III, or IV, VET Diploma, Vocational Graduate Certificate, Advanced VET Diploma, and Vocational Graduate Diploma.
  • Higher Education Sector Visa – International students require Subclass 573 Visa to study a higher education course, such as Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Graduate Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate, and a Master’s degree.
  • Postgraduate Research Sector Visa: Subclass 574 PG Research Visa is mandatory for international students travelling to study towards a research-based Doctoral or Master’s Degree.
  • Non-Award Sector Visa: International students who want to stay in Australia to study either a non-award foundation studies course or another full-time course (or components of a course) that does not lead to an Australian award in Australia require a Subclass 575 visa.

Steps to apply for a Student Visa in Australia

For online application:
  • We will create an account at ‘ImmiAccount’ and directly apply through the portal, upload your documents and pay the student visa application fee.
  • After your documents and the application fees are submitted, you will receive a Transaction Reference Number (TRN). You must keep a record of this in order to follow the progress of your application. With the help of TRN, you can track your progress.
For offline application:
  • We download or get an application form from the nearest Australia Visa Application Centre.
  • We help you submit your application at the nearest immigration office outside Australia and pay the required visa application fee. All you have to do is wait for the decision from the other side.

Note: Submit your application no later than six weeks before your course starts, and no earlier than 12 weeks. You will not have your application fee refunded if your application for a student visa is dismissed or rejected for any reason.
